I served in the Army Infantry as a mortarman in the 9th Infantry Division in the northern Mekong Delta in 1970. Our area of operation was along the Cambodian border south of Cu Chi, near the Black Virgin Mountain. Agent Orange was not dispensed while I was there to my knowledge. But it had been heavily dispensed in earlier years of the war. This area was all swamps and water, including rivers and canals in which we bathed. I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer in 2004 and had it removed. I caught it early. My family has no history of colon cancer. I know that the VA has not been honoring claims for colon cancer, but I have meeting on November 23, 2010 to evaluate my claim.
