  I was discharged from the Army April first 1968 returning from Vietnam. Could I get information on what kind of hearing test that returning vets got. I did not have a hearing test but all the blanks are filled in therefore my claim was denied. I came in about 1 or 2 in the morning and was out of the army by 3 or 4 the same day, the fastest thing the Army ever did. would like some commets about the hearing test during outprocessing thanks.

  My hame is Roger Stock and I hung tight with David Shaykin, Sam Curl, Jim Abramski, (Big D) for Detroit, Michigan. And 100's of other guys in the 15 month I was there. I am now 100% service connected and can help with proving combat and claims if not just catching up on old combat friends, or aquantances.

  i am a wife of a vietnam veteran, he was in vietnam from 1968 to 1969. we have been married since 1970. We had been friends since 1965. I have seen his Physical, Emotional, and Psychological health deteriorate. I need to find some resources for him, I don't know how to help him.   Looking for any information about my deceased brother Gary D. Frasher.He served in Viet Nam from March 20, 1970 to May 8 1970 in the army as a helicopter pilot. The only info I have is that he was with CO A, 25th AVN BN, 25th INF DIV in Viet Nam. He began his service in Sept. 1968 in Fort Benning Georgia.   Also, if any of you know of a Charles Gant who also served that tour and flew helicopters. At the time, he had two children and a wife named Vicky. He escorted my brother's body home.

  I am on Vet's Pension for ptsd; finally got a pending claim after a five year period when I THOUGHT I had a claim pending but was (heh heh)mistaken. One of my ptsd incidents was long before I went into the service. I never served in combat, didn't join until 1972, was in the Navy. Have no idea how I woulda stood up in combat.
  I get tired of the vets who were in Viet Nam who have a condesending attitude towards me. Excuse the heck outta me, but I did volunteer, pardon me for not being old enough to join sooner. So most vet functions, if I go, I stay away from you guys (did I hear a cheer?) Same attitude I get at the VA. But then I have a lousy attitude; for the past 28 years I've had a G.A.F. attitude.

  i was stationed in vietnam from 1966 thru 1972, and served in Nha Trang ( was there when the neptune club was bombed)long binh, saigon, and phulam. while in nha trang i lived with a girl named nguyen thi hoang minh and we had a son together; i left nha trang, went to denver for 6 months then back to vietnam in saigon where i took up with the same girl again and that is where we had a son. i was reassigned and some difficulties happened and i lost track of the girl and our son. i don't have any more information on her or the son except pictures of both, would appreciate any help in locating them.

I'm looking for infromation on a Joseph Prevost who was based there durring that time. He was in the Air Force. I was told that he was in his mid-20's back in 1957. He was also seeing a local woman who lived in the Truax Appartments accross the street from the base, she was going by the name of either Mary or Janie. • Marines "The Shadow Walkers' -- Jerry D Busby, 14:43:07 02/23/04 Mon
  I'm looking for soldiers who knew my brother-in-law, Jerry D. Busby, in the Vietnam War. He is very ill and his memory is going, so all he can remember is that he was in the 9th Battalion, (2nd)(5th)or (6th) Marine Division and he was an E6 Staff Sergeant. He says their nickname was "THE SHADOW WALKERS". He was in Quantico on Sept.21, 1977. Okinawa, Japan on November,1973. Battery K, 4th Battalion,12th Marine, 3rd Marine Division in October 1971.
  He served Basic Training in San Diego, CA with 1st Battalion #1124. In November 1973, he was in USMC 11th Battalion. This information was given either by Jerry or his wife, so I hope the information is as close to being correct as possible. He just wants to know if people he served with is as ill as he is-He has been diagnosed with the human form of Mad Cow's disease and it is possibly due to chemicals from the war.   My husband served in nam during the late 60's and early 70's , while he was serving his country he lost part of his foot and was given several units of blood. He got hep c from that blood. In 2001 he was approved for a liver transplant, which he finally recevied in Feb. of 2002, he was a fighter and he fought long and hard but the transplant didn't work for him, after spendin almost 2 months in the hospital he passed away. The Va has denided me any sort of surivors benfits, stating that his death wasn't service connected, yet they approved him for this transplant because the hep c was service connected, I do not understand their reasonin, I guess i'm not suppose to. I was wondering if there was anyone out there that knew of how I can have him name put on the Wall, or any other information related to my situtation. thank you Julie at julieinmissouri@yahoo.com

  My husband has an "unnamed campaign" on the back of his DD-214 under the heading " Campaigns". Is this proof he was in combat ? His M.O.S. was file clerk, but he says he was a door gunner. Also, under " Awards & Decorations", RVNCM w/ Dev 60 , isn't this a machine gun ? The Army says all records are " Blacked Out". They are surprised to see he has one campaign on his DD-214.   We had to evacuate a plane I was on because they told us
  there was a bomb on it. The demolition experts and MP's
  took a trunk off of the plane and threw heavy mesh nets

Also all of the childern have considerably thin hair. He was wanting to know if and or how can he have benifits for his childeren. • My dad is losing his mind----Can anyone help me? -- Keith Robinson, 14:12:43 10/24/03 Fri
  About a year and a half ago, my dad lost his memory out of the blue. He remembered no one, not me, my mom, or brother, no grandaughters (2) nothing. He was watching some footage of VietNam on the History Channel, and he got all of his memory back except the last 5 years. He has had 3 or 4 "episodes" since then, where he'll get in the car and forget who he is or where he's going. The other day, my mom came home and found dad in the backyard dressed in his army coat, combat boots, "camoflauge" mud on his face, and a rifle pointed at some trees across the field. He was performing "gaurd duty". Needless to say, my mom is worried. No doctors have offered any help, only counseling, and nothing's worked. My dad was encouraged to go to the VA, and when he went, they said they couldn't help him because my mom made too much money. My family's in debt up to their ears, my dad's not working, obviously, and things are terrible. I can't help but think the VietNam experience has something to do with it, but after reading symptoms from others, I have not found my dad's. He's a young man, only 57 or so....can anyone give me any answers?

  My husband died 9 years ago. He had Melanoma which had went to his brain and lungs. My claims have been continually denied because they said even though he had lung cancer, it was Melanoma in his lungs, not lung cancer per say. I have been able to prove he was exposed to AO but our government denies AO responsibility. This has been such a frustrating ordeal. I will continue to fight as long as I have to.   Thanks to responses to my inquiries about Marvin Edward Gordon {Dusty} I have heard from several veterans who gave me sites to search. I was forwarded a message from his best friend that had been posted in 2000. We have been in contact and I have learned about my friend as a Marine. That has been so healing. Many thanks. I know now that when veterans say "brothers" they mean it. I have yet to hear anything about Darwin Dale Gordon, "DD". He was only in Vietnam 44 days. He and Dusty were brothers and died just 6 months apart. If anyone knew and remembers Darwin, please help me in my search. He was in the Army, KIA 3-24-68. Thank you all so much.   I am kind of in the same boat as you... except I am the child. My father worked on the planes that carried Agent Orange, and so far the VA doesn't recognize children with birth defects whose fathers are the Vets.. it has to be the mother. I'm sure my birth defects are caused by Agent Orange because they don't run in the family and only my brother and I have them. I was wondering if there is any talk about helping people like me? I don't think my dad has filed any claims or anything.. should he just incase? How do I find out if it is actually Agent Orange that caused my birth defects? thanks for your response.

You and she were both very young and didn't want to get married. All we know is that you were in the war and came back to sign the adoption papers in early 1970 or late 1969. My husband is now 6'0, 200lbs, large build, dark hair, green eyes ... handsome fellow. Does this remind you of yourself?   I am looking for veterans that I served with during Vietnam from 1968 to 1970. I left from California to Germany then in December or January of 1968 I left Germany for Vung Tau, Vietnam. I remained in Vietnam for 18 months in Vung Tau with the 36th engineer battalion/ 94th engineer detachment (Quarry). I received a 30 day leave at that time, came home and then returned to Vietnam for 6 months but this 6 months of my life is a blank except for the vivid flashbacks that I now experience. I need to fill in some holes and I need the help of any one who may have served with me or remembers me.

• Looking for ANYONE who knows ANYTHING of Miguel Maya (aka Mikey Maya) -- Miguel and Liza Maya, 12:18:29 11/05/02 Tue
  I am not sure if anyone can help however my fingers are crossed. My husbands father died in 1979. My husband would have been 3 years old. He hasn't a memory at all of him, infact he knows absolutley nothing of him. We know his name and have recently come across a document of discharge from the armed forces, through internet searches and others we've come across his SS# and his death certificate. But that's about it. We know he was in Vietnam and received many medals (according to his discharge paper) There are further details all in codes and abbreviations we don't know. We also do not know where he was stationed in Vietnam. We do know upon his discharge (which was honorable)that he was stationed in Fort Dix New Jersey. As far as we can tell in reading the discharge papre he served the U.S. for over 10 years. We also know he was about 29 years old when he died. PLEASE if ANYONE has ANY information at all on him, his name was MIGUEL ARCANGEL MAYA we know he was known to many as Mikey Maya. We would be so happy and I think it would fill a great void my husband has just to hear a story about him, maybe just to know someone did know him? To know how he died. There are just so many un answered questions and although you may not know all the answers, if you know anything we'd GRATELY APPRECIATE ANY INFO AT ALL!!! Please!   We are hosting the Vietnam Moving Wall from 2/28-3/8/03 in the Daytona Beach area outside of the New Smyrna Speedway.
  I would like to invite a former POW to give a speech at the opening ceremony for the Wall.
  
  Do you know of anyone who would be willing to do this? Also..if any on this board are in the area or just have time on their hands that they could volunteer...I need help in organizing this event by contacting relatives who may be in the area, organizations willing to participate by standing guard, etc.

  I was with MCB 9 '63 - '64 at camp Kinser, (now camp shields) Okinawa. Spent time at Camp Hanson, and Kadena. I'm up for disability and need info on herbicides used in and around these sites, and military training. VA doesn't want to recognize the fact that they were used. I've seen several post looking for same info. But as most of us believed they said it was OK so it musta' been OK. Cause they would never tell you anything that was untrue. At this time whether or not they knew that this stuff would kill you is a mute point. I didn't work on spraying detail, I don't know what it was, but they sprayed it, or it blew on everything. I'm looking for someone who remembers the spraying that took place at this time, and what it was they used either would be of a great help to me.   I have hundreds of pages of documents on both men. I have found friends ( from school ) of Egan. I am in contact with 2 Marines who also would like to know more of Egan's fate. One was standing beside Jim when Jim went MIA. He continues to try to 'understand' Jim's disappearance. This Marine was also a very close friend of Russ Grissett who disappeared the next day as THEY WERE LOOKING FOR EGAN.
  
  If anyone has information on Grissett,please email me. We do know he was held with Bobby Garwood and his remains were eventually returned home.
  
  ( If anyone would be more comfortable emailing one of the Marines mentioned above rather than talking to me, please email me and I will put you in contact with them ).
  
  I have in my possession an item that is HOPED to be presented to Egans' only sibling, Joanne. This item was saved to present to Jim when he was found ( Unfortunately, that did not happen ). It was then hoped to be given to Jims' parents. It is believed they both have passed on.
  
  I have had little luck in finding a buddy of Willing. Actually, I have tried since 1998....I have not located even one......where are the D 2/13 MARINES?

  I was a corpsman with Echo, 2/4 3rd MARDIV in nam 1968. I am one of the few to survive the battel of Dong ha, and would enjoy corresponding with any others who survived. I was at Parris Island at the Receiving barracks as a "new Doc" in 1966-1967, then onto monfort point and FMF and the 2nd MARDIV at 2nd MED BAT, the Okinawa before going in-country. I spent 3 years of my inital enlistment with the Marines, so I have more Marine buddies than Navy. I would just like to hear from any of the men who were at those locations. I'm healthy, and thank God daily for that. SO, come on guys, if you think you might remember, let me hear from you.
