I was in Vietnam in '69-'70 in Pleiku in the central highlands. Agent orange was on base and drums were leaking all over the ground. There was very little foliage that was untouched by the sprayings so when it was dry the contaminated dust from agent orange spraying would be blown everywhere, especially when choppers were landing. I was diagnosed with colon cancer in Jan of 2010 and had my sigmoid colon resectioned (10" removed). At the time it was stage II and it looked like there was no evidence of disease elsewhere. I now (May 2012) have been diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer that has spread to my lungs and lymph glands and I am being treated with chemo that is making me very sick and may not even work. NO ONE in my family has ever had colon cancer! Just me. I have been fighting the VA since 2010 and have had no results. I believe there are so many cases like mine that if they ever did cover colon cancer they would have to cover too many veterans, so it has been brushed under the table. They may ok it once enough of us die! Maybe someone in goverment should stop this travesty and okay Colon cancer before it's too late for the victims of the government's spraying of agent orange in Vietnam. I am very discouraged at the attitude our representatives have taken in regards to this issue! Shame on them!!
