Date Posted: Wed, Jul 18 2012, 12:24:30 Well I've been on my new job 5 months, because of the way my orientation went(my first 5 patients died)I've avg over a death/mnth and I only work 2 days(soon to be 3)/week. This was not unexpected as we are one of the largest facilities in the country that uses a cooling protocol for sudden cardiac arrest,in fact we are a top reserch facility in this area of medicine. No worries, I'm only giving an update. I've learned and am learning alot. Having been in the pediatric ICU/truama/ED for most of my career most everything in my ICU is new, including the staff! Most everyone I have worked with have been great in answering my questions and respecting my experience and my experiences including the dreaded "PROGRAM". The director who hired me is leaving which means I'll have to break in a new mgr, in my 25 years this has been both a good and bad experience, kind of yin/yang. It has been awful slow around here lately so I hope everybody is having a fine summer. Those still looking for work or new to the challenge of paying to piss and the rooms hold your head up your time is coming! [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
