Close but faraway- mmm The woman I married just swept me off my feet at a particularly low moment in my life, the spell did not last long, but I will never say anything unkind about her, because of the tragic turn of events. The woman your poem reminds me of, was the first to break my heart (so to speak), circumstances worked to make it that we were not to be- we never fell out of love, but over the years its significance faded- I used to have tea with her every week for about 10 years afterwards - otherwise our lives took different paths- its about 12 years since I last heard from her.
Perhaps I seem far away because I want to be closer- thats odd too :-) love to you
