Subject: Patch ID requested, Photo recon unit

I'm trying to identify a patch my father had from his unit in WWI Pacific theater - he was a pilot in a Photo Recon unit . The patch is round, about 5 inch diameter (so I don't think it is a shoulder patch!).
It features a 'cartoon' Indian brave, wearing a red and white feather, a camera around his neck and a hatchet in his right hand. His left hand is resting on an 8 Ball(but the 8 is not there). There is a lightening bolt center top. I think he flew P-38's in New Guinea in the'42-'43 time frame?(lightening bolt??. And later was assigned with teh 8th Photo Recon Group (CBI).
Any help is appreciated

Thanks,
Terry Gorton
