As for the higher ground, I meant to ask if the younger brother should take the higher ground, not the girl.

Even the younger sister of the two boys (all mine, by the way), thinks it's wrong and awful of the younger brother to date this girl.

While I understand the sense of discomfort that might be present, and I understand that consideration should be exercised, I don't understand this absolute taboo that everyone else is experiencing. My dd says "That's gross! And it's just wrong!" That is pretty much what all the kids are saying (in their IM traffic).

I agree that the older brother should be over it, but what I don't understand is the consensus from all the other kids (including my dd) that it is some sort of evil and dark undertaking. Also, considering the girl made the moves, it's not like my younger son set out to betray his brother (although *I* don't see it as a betrayal).
