Subject: Alright, I need advice here because Im pissed off right now.

Ok, to make a long story as short as possible let me start with this....

Im the matron of honor in my best friends wedding. (NOT THE MOVIE LOL). I live 7 hours away from her , I have two sons in school and a husband in the Marine Corps who just can't take off work anytime he wants. Sooooooooooooo......

My friend calls me today telling me that she is upset because I couldn't make it too either (yes two different) bridal showers she had. One was given by her very rich soon to be mother in law. The other is tonight given by her not rich mother who is trying to compete with the jones. Anyway, I told her "first off I have never heard of two different showers " and you knew when you asked me to be your matron of honor that it would be diffcult for me to come 7 hours for one freaking day. I just can't get away . Sooooooo, now I feel all guilty about that because Im suppose to be there with her. Apparently her mother is upset because I didn't help pay for this shower but I told her I didn't have the money to help out with an expensive bridal shower . I mean I bought my best friend and 90 dollar freaking fondue pot . And I told her months ago that I wouldn't be able to come up for one day.

Now on to the next problem. I knew I would have to help set up the bachlorette party so I asked my friend about a month ago what she wanted to do on her special night. I told her we could rent a limo and get her stripper and do the night club circuit. She told me she didn't want a stripper and a limo was a waste of money because the bars are all in the same area. Sooooooooo, I was like alright.

Now her mother is bitching because she had to pay for a limo...... WHAT????? I called my friend and said "why would your parents put out money for a limo and moan about it when you said you didn't want one. And she also is getting a stripper now!!!! WHAT????? She told me she didn't want one because she thought it was tacky.

NOW...... I feel like a total loser because everyone is pointing fingers at me because Im suppose to be the matron of honor and help pay for all this. But the thing is I suggested it from the beginning and she said she didn't want to waste alot of money on one night.

Apparently she was lying. Im suppose to be a freaking mind reader now. I told her I would help pay for the stripper and limo. I also told her I thought it was messed up that she went behind my back and moaned to her parents "saying everyone was cheap and didn't want to pitch in for stuff". I don't know what to say to her now.

Its like Im the freaking bad guy here. I paid over 100 dollars for a ticket to fly up to Baltimore (which is a miracle on its own because I hate to fly and with all this stuff going on Im even more freaked out) . Im going up a week early so I can spend time with her and help her with last minute details. Im also going up early to go to her party. My husband had to take leave which was a feat on its own , and he has to watch the boys for 4 days without me. LOL!

This whole thing has me pissed. Everyone thinks Im not doing my job as MOH..... Are they right???
