is dyslexic.She needs something called assistive learning technology. The school system is suposed to provide it,in order to give her an adequette education. After fighting with the school system for years my sister finally got it but it took another year for them to install it and now they are fighting to get them to use it the teachers simply refuse. They have been found in violation manny times but without consequence. They once offered to settle by looking into a toutoring program. no we will offer toutoring just that they will look into it.

My brother is also adhd and was on med.s through most of his school career. They looked at it as if he was medicated the problem was gone and he needed no further assistance.He was held bak three times before 5th grade and thenwas pushed ahead two years into junior high when they realized how much older he was than the other students and put into special ed classes. Then when he was supposed to go to high school they tried to send him to the alt. high school basacly where they send the undesireables. After a fight he was allowed to remain in the high school.Then they tried to expel him when another student gave him a note to hang in the bathroom saying there was a bomb. He ripped the note up and put it in his pocket.The charges were dropped and he was allowed to remain but they pulled him into the office every day to search him.He finally dropped out and joined a coast guard program that helped him get his Ged it took him a long time to pass because his education was so poor he only had a 3rd grade reading level.

Should the school be held accountabe. My mother did everything she could but the school decided it was better or cheaper to fight her. If so what kind of penalty should they face?
