16 when he came to the Fremen, they seem to bestow a lot of responsibility on the young in the duniverse.

Alia would be treated no different.

Still irregardless of ALL that, the question of whether or not Paul was wise to put her in such power is questionable.

But also keep in mind that the Fremen and Culture placed her in such high regard, to ignore that would have alienated Paul with a large number of his subjects.
