Subject: two moons

So, Dune has two moons, as I'm sure most of us are aware. It seems that the most popular way to show a panoramic of Dune is to have the desert below, usually at the site of a cliff or other interesting feature and often with a couple of people out there alone, and then to have the two moons in the background right next to each other. This just seems to have a good artistic value to it.

All right, time to NITPICK! Yes, nitpicking is fun.

Herbert always describes the two moons as "First Moon" and "Second Moon"; one never passes the other one. First Moon is always the same one and always rises first, while Second Moon is always the one that looks like a picture of a mouse and always rises after the first one.

It seems to me that there is only one way that that can work. The two moons are sharing the same orbit and fall into each other's Trojan gravity wells, placing them ALWAYS 60 degrees apart in their orbit. If this is the case, then obviously they can never be right next to one another in the sky.

Oh well, I guess that just wouldn't have the same artistic appeal. But, what I want to know is this: am I right? What do y'all think? And what about this: did none of the artists think of this or do they just not care?
