I havn't finished chapterhouse yet im only about 1/8 through... I always thought that it would be interesing if the BG got duncan and sheanna to mate, and accidentally produced a Qwisatz Haderach. It would also be interesting if one of the face dancers was able to change into Paul or Leto. Would they then posses their powers? I keep hearing that by the end the HM are running like crazy from some unknown evil force? (is this right?) I've also heard that they've merged w/ the BG and have taken the spice essence. What if a HM had a prescient dream, seeing their destruction as Leto saw humankinds destruction and this future is the evil thing that chases them.. ?

Also i hear they've discovered a machine race spawned from a probe sent during the butlerain jihad. Think of all the time the machines would have to evolve. They would have analyzed their earlier defeat and surely have secured means of preventing another loss. Besides, after all that time who knows what they could have made, cyborgs (a mentat cyborg would be formidable), androids, even sentient no-ships!!! The possiblities here are endless. Could they break the chains of normal logic and think erratically to fool mentats? Also, the Ixians managed to make a machine that could predict folding space like a navigator. I don't know if the nature of this machine uses presience like navigators or simply computes the path. If it did use prescience, could the machines find this and adapt it to their own needs?

I also seem to remember from either Dune or Dune Messiah that the Tleilaxu had sucessfully made a Kwisatz Haderach a generation before the BG, who seeing what paul and leto saw, killed himself (is this true???). What if he was preserved as a ghola? What if the machines made a cyborg of him? Could the cyborg components replicate Teg's powers in Dune Heretics (from the ixian probe?), they could amass a virtually invincible army using this power!

Dune has been left so open that i believe anything could happen in D7, i just hope it is as original and inspiring as the first series!
