At first, I was skeptical about the idea of prescient machines. But now that I think about it, I don't see why. They found a technological way to immitate the Guild Navigators' ability to guide ships through fold space, and isn't that the definition of prescient machines?

The Enemy needs only to upgrade itself with technology stolen from the Ixians. If it could do that, then it could also take no-ship technology. Therefore, the machines have a HUGE advantage: they can see humans, but humans can't see them.

Now add in Siona invisibility-genes plus Miles Teg's ability; the advantage switches to the humans. Sure, it might be possible for the machines to copy Teg's ability, but they don't even know that it exists.

By the way, do y'all have a page number for that "Typhoon Struggle" thing?
