I would just like to clarify that Frank Herbert did not use the analogy between oil and the spice. He states in the prologue to Heritics of Dune that "Potable water was to be an analog for oil and for water itself, a substance whose supply diminishes each day." The spice was intended to be an awareness drug.

As for the two Facedancers, Frank could very well have modeled them after him and his wife. However, I highly doubt that he intended them to actually BE him and his wife. They may have some similar characteristics, but their overall meaning is much deeper than that. As to what that meaning is, I have no idea.

In response to your last question, I believe a 'troller' is simply someone who tries to pick fights with others on message boards. Or someone who uses profanity when it really isn't needed.
