I first read Dune in 1996 I was 17. It was then I realized how much of me was soaked up into the novels. I had a new insight on my actions and the things that were happening around me. I can't believe a man (Frank Herbert) had such depth in politics, religion, and the inner patterns of human behavior throughout history.
How did anyone feel about the new mini-series? Was is better than Lynch's? I don't believe Dune can be converted into a movie and keep the same richness as the books. But, for all their efforts I thought they turned out pretty well.
