Thursday I'll truck up the highway to Nashville to catch the opening show of this long tour. Hopefully a couple friends will pack into my little red car. And I should have another box of home made cookies for the band to share. Mercy Lounge in Nashville is a good spot....even if Cam has to deal with the raddling air duct pipes and occasional slow fright creaping through the train yard just outside the windows. The place has a certain atmosphere about it that I almost expect one of those trains to stop, a box car door open to the loading dock, and Janis and Pigpen step out to join the party. Earlier this year DSO opened the second set at Mercy playing the music better than I've ever heard them or the old Grateful band play...so much high energy in Bertha and Good Lov'n. I'll have to rest up the next few days to be sure to save up enough energy to keep danceing through the night. I wonder if we might be blessed with the singing of Donna again ....and Zion's Boombox music at set break with the girl danceing on stilts....all good fun times. Then on Friday, if there's not too many constraints back home in North Georgia, we might follow the band across the state to Memphis for Friday's gig.
