Subject: Shadows bank on black economy

By Grantly Bernardly

Darkness Eternal will don a new strip during next month's RFL season opener after signing a deal with taxi service Black Cabs Combined.

The RFL's most traditional club will line up in a black jumper with a black yoke, in a move that is likely to upset many of the Shadows' huge band of undead supporters.

It will be the first home game the Shadows have not worn the famous black sashed black jumper in its long and turbulent history.

Darkness Eternal president Jefferson Airplane admitted that he hoped most of the Shadow's "Army of the Dead" would not hold it as a black mark against the proud club.

"We have to get back into the black," he said yesterday.

"Obviously we take a dim view of this but we were shaded last year and to retain the right players we have had to dig deep - about six foot actually."

The sponsorship deal was brokered by long term coach The General who came up with the idea while drinkin' Moonshine, eatin' grits and shootin' coons.

"Just good ol' boys," the General said sagely, while outlining the deal's ramifications. "Never meanin' no harm.

"Beats all yer ever saw been in trouble with the law since the day they was born," he explained.
