Subject: Sorry, Grigg, I didn't click that your Drac review was on our site - I'll go there now matey! And review a film I've seen! And did I mention that I have nearly all but about 5 Blake's 7 episodes from season three/four? You know, the stuff that's being shown on the Sci-Fi channel at the moment?

I just had a blazing row with the librarian when I took this fucker out... I asked for a Michael Jackson album and she gives me a CD with a picture of a black man on the cover!

THRILLER (1982 - BEST-SELLING ALBUM EVER; THOUGH BAD SOLD MORE IN THE UK)

Wanna Be Startin' Something: A nice start, with Jacko still trying out new vocal areas. I notice that his yelpy voice in parts of this one is very similar to Jay Kay's (Jarmiroquoi) in that one he sings about the girl from outer space. Space Cowboy was it?? Listen to it, there's me thinking it was just Stevie Wonder the twat in the hat was ripping off. Factoid: When Jacko recorded this he was actually black and hadn't had to cough up any money for taking a liberal attitude towards the term "babysitting". Oh, those innocent days! Rating: ****

Baby Be Mine: So bland it could be Billy Joel on one of his bad days. I do like Billy but he can be shit sometimes. Rating: ***

The Girl Is Mine: Some duets are funky, explosive combinations. Others are smug, self-satisfied horseshit that drinking a bucket of your own diarrohea is preferable to listening to them. I wonder, can you guess which category this song falls into? Jacko at his blandest, with the blandest Beatle. Factoid: Jacko has a drawing in the middle of the CD booklet of him, Paul and the "girl" (probably his daughter, Stella - she would have been the right age for Jacko in '82) How Jacko never became a world-renowned artist or poet is completely beyond me. Rating: **

Thriller: Back on track, a funky floor-filler with Romero homage. Possibly a five-star job. Factoid: For the Thriller video Jacko had a face that was falling to bits with flesh hanging ungloriously from it. Apparently years later he would show it to his plastic surgeon and go "that's what I'm after". Rating: ****
