we had a teacher at work who was like that when her baby was born in February. He was 4 months old before he was taken out of the house for anything other than doctor's appointments!

Seriously...her mother and father would go to her house each Sunday. They babysat so she and her husband could go to the 9:30 mass. Then she'd go home and her parents would go to the late mass.

When I asked why...her baby was a BIG healthy guy...it was because her husband had been sick the month before the baby was born. Does that make any more sense to you than it does to me?

Some people are just nutty like that. Of course, she also is only working part time this year and on those days her mom will come into her home, so her child won't go to daycare either.

I don't know if I could be that vigilant about germs or not.

You didn't say...but was this a first baby? I'd guess so, lol! It is odd, though. I'll be interested to hear if you ever get a "thank-you"! That might say a lot...maybe they're very appreciative, but possessed with the idea of being new parents!
