Oh, ugh! I have been cleaning nonstop since about 8:30. This is ridiculous! The worst part is, it will only take the kids 15 minutes to undo 3 hours of work!
My livingroom and the boys' bedroom are actually clean-clean. This is the first time since last November that the boys' room has been like this. After John dumped all the shelves in there it never did get put back together. I'd go in and work, have to quit, and my two would just dump more. I'm hoping now that it's CLEAN they are old enough to make an effort to keep it that way.
The livingroom is clean other than needing dusting.
In the diningroom and kitchen I cheated. I have two grocery bags with STUFF in them that I'll need to sort out, file, and put away. It was just too late to do that. At least my table and counters are cleared off. I still have to sweep the floor and empty the dishwasher.
I have two loads of laundry to put away before I can go to bed, too. It's a good thing I don't have kids right now...starting the school year out tired like this would not be a good thing!
Do you suppose there's any chance my kids will make the slightest effort to keep the house picked up now that I've got it this way? I'm going to make them do a complete pick-up twice a week. Liam can do it when he wants to.
The thing that's the worst? Hot Wheels. Teiguen has them ALL over the house! I found 4 on the kitchen counters, three in the livingroom (and Liam had just cleaned in there yesterday!) and a half dozen downstairs and in their room. I just hate hot wheels! All Teiguen does is carry them around. He really doesn't play with them. As soon as something catches his eye, he drops them and moves on to it.
Oh, his first day of school was interesting. His teacher got sick in the middle of the day and went home! They had the SpEd teacher subbing with them part of the day, then a real sub (who's obviously never taught...especially early childhood, lol!) He had a good day all the same.
Well, I need to pack lunches, get the laundry done, clean the kitchen, and swish out the toilet before I go to bed. Guess I'd better get a move on!
