Uncle Charlie has alwasy been an alcoholic and when I was young he was a little too friendly and we had a lot of problems when he got drunk. He never crossed the line, I just didn't like his behavior and stayed away from him. Because my grandfather was a big drinker, my father has never in his life touched the stuff and my mother almost never, so that wasn't part of our dysfunction.

The rest of that side of the family is crazy but mostly harmless. they mean well. My 2 favorite cousins live at home with their parents, Lola and Henry. It is their brother that is the crazy story teller. I feel so bad for Lola and Henry because they are such nice people but they have given up their lives to care for their mom and dad and our aunt.

The whole group of them are wonderful to my kids. they remember their birthdays and do a big deal for them at Christmas and other holidays. Henry gets and dresses up as the Easter bunny every year to hide eggs for them! Just on a scale from normal to padded wall crazy, they are definately a thin hair away from padded wall crazy.

My aunts sit around and watch cartoons all day and talk about what Sailor Moon was thinking on her adventures. The kids think that is so very funny.

My mom and grandma do nothing but put them down and insult the kids and try to guilt them into doing things. But since I never taught my kids the guilt thing it doesn't work on them. They have appropriate guilt when they do something wrong not the kind of guilt my mother and grandmotehr use to makie people do what they want them to do..kwim?

Anyway we have never told Robert's family about Jack. How screwed up are we? Pierre told us to just skip it, why bother to stir up more trouble. It is sad when someone as family oriented as Pierre tells us to avoid Robert's family. Oh well. I hope Steve is feeling better today lol lol lol
