I was offered a 2nd grade position for year after next today. It would be on my same campus, but I'm thinking I really need a change. I don't like teaching music anymore. There are a lot of factors that figure into why I don't like music, but well that's a LONG story.

I've really enjoyed my summer school position - it's been a lot of fun actually. I actually enjoy planning lessons and stuff again. So that's the pros of moving.

The cons are that Music gives me flexibility a classroom would not. In Music I can leave during party time and go to my kids stuff. In a classroom I'd have to take off to do that. Well that's basically the only con, but it's a big one.

I'm very very very torn. I've got until April to decide so I don't have to rush into it. However I'm incredibly flattered because my principal was UBBER impressed with my teaching. This is the man who has done nothing but put me down for 2 years. He called the cluster director to come out and see my math centers. I've been doing Guided Math this summer which is much like reading groups would be set up. My kids are making HUGE gains in math. Wish I could say the same about reading, but well you take what you can get right?
