The first is fairly form fitted...you take the cushions off and slip it over the sofa. The skirt is attached in the front and part way on the sides, then has some that is loose. At the end on each side there are long straps made out of the same material (2). There are D-rings on the back of the couch. You use them to tighten the skirt so it is a good fit. Then, the cushions all go in the other piece. It has 3 straps and 3 D-rings on the bottom, so it doesn't come off. You strap the cushions in, then slide it onto the couch. It looks really nice, and it is staying on!!!!

The only downside is that you wouldn't probably want this style if your couch sits in the middle of the room...the straps on the bottom in the back wouldn't be so very attractive. But, it's the first slip cover I've ever had that stays on and looks nice! I con't think anyone walking in here for the first time would realize it's a slip cover!

As extra insurance, I put the crib waterproof mattress cover over two of the cushions and a watherproof burp pad over the other one before putting the slipcover over them. That way, if the kids DO spill, it won't go through to the couch. Very nice!

As an added and very odd bonus, the cats love it, lol! Two of them have started sleeping up on the couch since I got it, rofl!
