The sad thing is that with the car needing work twice this summer, the big "savings" I planned didn't happen! At least I'm at a point where things are okay...and I guess it would have been crisis time had I not taught summer school.

Like you, I have stuff that isn't done! I have two piles of clothing Teiguen's outgrown- one in my bedroom, one on the library table chair. I need to haul them downstairs. I didn't even have time to ASK if anyone was having a garage sale this year. I need to check out Craig's list, I guess. See if it would be worth my time.

I usually clean closets, wash drapes, etc, each summer. Ask me if I did it this summer. Nope. I guess I'm going to have to give it a go either this weekend or during the regular year!

You're nice to volunteer at church when you haven't had any time off!

My biggest "duh" is that the new books I bought last spring are still in boxes and bags. Not only have I not written reading guides for them, I haven't even marked them "Title I". My boss told me she wants the program up and running day 1. She didn't even KNOW about it until I told her...and I can't start day 1 because I won't even have class lists or a schedule by then...but whatever.

Are you like me...looking forward to actually having a week off come Christmas???

The sad thing is, there are MANY careers that get actual vacations...ones that are way longer than our little unpaid breaks...and who pay twice what we make. Who would have thought teaching would come to this???
