禽流感來勢汹汹，我們固然應該做好衛生措施，加緊防範。然而，最近香港人（包括政府和市民）的反應，是否過於敏感呢？
在一個人口如此密集的都市，每天在街上有動物屍體被發現，絕對不足為奇。流浪貓狗暴斃在街上最為普遍，橫街後巷中也經常會有死老鼠出現；至於麻雀野鳥在天上掉下來，照理也不是甚麼大不了的事──就算有沒有禽流感，都一樣會有咁多死鳥㗎啦！
可是，今時今日一旦有雀鳥屍體在街上被發現，大家馬上如臨大敵！市民驚到馬上報警，警方驚到馬上封鎖現場（尤如發現人屍一樣），傳媒驚執輸地馬上趕來採訪，然後漁護署人員就趕來執屍……加上羊群效應之下，以往城中每日有一兩宗此類「雀屍事件」被報道，近期已發展到每天有三五七宗！
不禁想道：如果有一天，我們面對的是「鼠流感」的威脅，那麼我們每天在新聞中看到的「鼠屍事件」，咪會數以百計？
又如果，肆虐的是「犬流感」或「貓流感」，那麼政府會否會一夜之間殺盡全城的流浪貓狗？又會否匆匆立法，禁止市民在家中養貓養狗？嘩！我諗一定會暴動！
再者，如果係「曱甴流感」，咁係咪見到死曱甴都要報警？
