不知是誰人開始的辦公室習俗：每當辦公室有人離職，離職的同事在他上班的最後一天（即所謂Last Day），都會買兩盒西餅，請同事們吃。
最近我才知道，這個習俗，有個很俗的名字，叫做「散水餅」。
廣東話中的「散水」，即是「解散了」、「各自回家了」、「各行各路了」的意思。不過，「散水」多多少少有點負面含義，可以是「曲終人散」的那種無奈感，也可以是「既然冇下文（節目），唯有各自散水啦」的那種負氣話。
「散水餅」，算是離職人士向大伙兒告別、答謝的一種「禮餅」吧！通常是兩打西餅，有時亦會是兩打蛋撻，或兩盒朱古力（巧克力）。聽過一個笑話：有位離職的同事，「買散水餅」時故意分等級，一盒是比較名貴的高級西餅，另一盒是普通雜餅，然後在貴價餅的盒面，寫明只有何人何人可以吃這一盒！
嘿嘿，如此恨惡分明，有必要麼？反正都要「散水」了，總覺得「凡事留一線，他日好相見」吧！
這天，我就陪同一位同事買她的「散水餅」，亦從她口中第一次得悉這個名詞，聽後頗感無奈。舉一反三，送別離職同事的歡送飯局、卡拉OK派對，是否也叫做「散水飯」、「散水K」？
