前陣子，以長途電話向在上海居住的父母拜年，問他們那邊過年的氣氛如何，答曰：「好！好得滯！好到冇覺好瞓！」
原來，內地一踏入歲晚日子，家家戶戶就開始放鞭炮，而且還是放個通宵達旦；你以為到兩、三點會靜止下來，忽然「轟隆」一聲，「霹靂霹靂」的又再連串爆發。到了大年初一凌晨起，更是大放特放，打雷咁打；初二、初三，同樣照放冇走雞。總之，一連數夜，想耳根清靜都幾難，想睡一個好覺更難！
如此夜夜燒炮杖，我們年青一輩也傍控o很好玩、很有氣氛、很想試試，可是對於老人家來說，就絕對是睡覺大過天，成晚係咁嘈住，點瞓呀？
此外，母親又提到，在上海過年的使費，一點不比香港少！甚麼團年飯、開年飯，閒閒地也二、三千元一圍，堪稱是「香港價」。上海人派利是，更大顯「海派」風格，動不動就一百元人民幣一封！所以，如果在當地多親朋戚友的話（就如我父母的例子），過年條數都幾襟計！
母親曰：「下次過年都係來香港過好了！」嘻嘻，我早就叫你來香港「避年」啦，下年醒目喇，媽咪！
