在《星戰》系列之中，出現過不少英雄人物。有把激光劍舞得虎虎生威的「絕地武士」，有駕駛技術一流的太空機師，有英雄救美的宇宙浪人。
不過，若仔細回顧那幾套電影，你會發現，當中最偉大的英雄，並非以上那些人物，而是小小的一個機械人：R2-D2！
記得《星球大戰》中有一幕，主角們（Luke Skywalker 等）混入了「死亡之星」，卻誤闖進垃圾房；垃圾房機關啟動，幾面牆壁壓向他們……結果他們何以能逃出生天？全靠 R2-D2 在外面，Log 進了「死亡之星」的主電腦，及時破解密碼弄停機關。
可以這樣說：若果不是 R2-D2 的戊牷A主角們早在該集就死了。事實上，R2-D2 大顯神通的情節，在幾集中都經常出現！
像在《武士復仇》尾段的叢林之戰，也是全靠 R2-D2 及時破解密碼，打開了一道基地的門……詳情已記不清了！反正門打開後，Luke 等才得以順利完成任務，令義軍摧毀「新死亡之星」。
小人物可做大英雄──是否熟口熟面的主題呢？皆因《星戰》係抄《魔戒》的嘛！乜你唔知咩？（《星戰》隨想曲之四）
