見大家熱衷於「任天狗」，忽然想起這些年來，我也「養」過不少電子寵物。
早在「他媽哥治」大熱時，我當然沒有那麼瘋狂，用上千完買一隻「他媽」啦！然而，我見坊間推出了類似的「養恐龍機」，也不禁買來養養。結果，恐龍蛋哺了出了一隻「三角龍」；可是，養了幾天，牠就無故暴斃了，連三隻角都未長齊……
後來，在 PlayStation 的養狗遊戲中養過一隻日本柴犬，我還幫牠起名叫……叫……乜嘢「郎」的；好像是「一郎」，又好像是「太郎」……現在居然想極也想不起來，可見我與牠的感情是何等的淺淡。反正是，玩了幾次，就放棄了，後來連那隻遊戲碟也賣掉了。
有陣子在 PC 電腦中，又養過電子魚：把電腦熒幕布置成夢想魚缸，把不同的魚種放進去，得閒餵下、睇下。那些電腦魚雖然已栩栩如生，但久而久之，我就發覺牠們來來去去也是那幾種動作和反應，感到厭悶。
有次悶到在網上拍賣場閒逛，發現有人把 Sony 的電子狗 Aibo 出售，叫價八千元。我幾乎就要出手買了，但最後一刻卻被身邊人阻止：「作死呀！八千蚊買件玩具！」
