每次有小說改編的電影在香港上畫，有關的原著小說，就算已推出多年而一直乏人問津，都會立即變成暢銷書的。
就像《魔戒》小說，舊版中譯本在釵h書店都有售，不過多年來都係「得個礎r」；後來更有書店將之列為「特價書」！到三年前《魔戒》電影上畫，同時推出新版中譯本小說，結果就大賣特賣──當然，釵h人將之買回家後，都一樣係「得個礎r」。
這兩天又有一套小說改編電影上畫，中文片名叫做《星際快閃黨》，俗得緊要。小說原名為《The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy》，全個系列共有五冊。不想五冊分開買的話，近年也推出了五合一合訂本，叫做《The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide》。不過在我印象中，這系列小說的中譯本並不常見，甚至可能是沒有出過。
老實說，這部小說還是看回英文版會好得多；你看，光是「Hitchhiker」這個字，你話點譯？「Yahoo！網上字典」的解釋是「沿途搭便車的旅行者」……多累贅。
若然我在書店，聽到有顧客問店員：「有冇《星際快閃黨》小說賣？」，我一定會投以不屑的微笑。
