有的人，喜歡追求「新」。
尤其是高科技產品，他們絕對是不新不用。一有新型號的手機推出市面，就不惜以最貴的炒價，第一時間買下，率先試用。然後，用不了兩三個月，趁這型號的手機在市面仍然熱賣，就將之放售，改而購入另一更新的型號。如此循環不息，一年換上五六次手機，走在消費市場的最前線，樂此不疲。
有的人，並不介意「舊」。
他們不介意用別人用過的東西，往往喜歡到二手市場去掏寶。他們並非沒有要求，買手機時仍然會找尋比較新款的型號，可是卻絕不願付出過高的炒價，寧願用二手貨，如此比市面的正價至少可省掉數百以至千多元。他們一旦購入了，也不會隨便換機，總會用到部機真正殘舊為止。
因為有以上的第一種人，對新事物新產品有無盡的渴求，所以廠商才可以幾乎每個月都推出新機新型號，從而推動高科技產業不斷發展。
也正因為有以上的第二種人，對舊東西舊產品不介意吸納，所以才會出現二手市場，令第一種人的「舊」機可以流通。
自問，是第一種人，所以每逢去到電器影音店，就會出現症狀：心癢癢！
