廣東話中，個「焗」字用作動詞的話，可以是一個烹飪用詞，如「焗飯」、「焗蛋糕」；但也有另一種解釋及用法。以下是一個好例子。
某大電訊集團旗下的「收費電視」服務（以下簡稱N），一向十分積極進取；自N提供服務以來，已經不下十幾次，以各種途徑想游說我訂購。可是，一來我已經選用了另一「收費電視」超過十年，沒有想「轉台」的意向，亦覺得沒有需要多用一家；二來，我的家用電話線、寬頻上網服務等，都是幫襯該大電訊集團的，實在不想再讓它多賺我錢了！所以，我一直對N拒諸門外，堅決不已。
這天，失驚無神收到電話推銷員的來電說：「閣下的寬頻上網服務合約就快到期了，我們現在提供最新優惠給你，你只要用月費一八九元，並簽約十八個月，就可繼續享用6M無限寬頻上網，並可同時免費享用N收費電視服務十八個月，加送你兩條自選頻道……」
我呆了一呆，問：「我可以只用寬頻上網，而不用收費電視嗎？」對方答道：「可以是可以的，但月費反而會更貴喔！」
當其時，我腦中就出現了一個很大的「焗」字！
