近年，一種新興的保險服務開始在本港出現：寵物保險。
一聽到「寵物保險」四個字，大家起初都會有點疑惑：連寵物都要買保險？唔係下話？係咪買咗之後，隻寵物死咗會有錢賠？
據我了解，寵物保險的重點，不在於「壽險」，而在「醫療保險」。
前兩天，有位女同事難得把她的愛兔帶返公司，我聞風馬上趕到她的位子睇兔仔。只見一頭像貓般大小的長毛灰兔，可愛是可愛了，卻有點沒精打彩似的。一問之下，原來牠排洩物有異狀，明顯是腸胃不適；同事帶牠回來，就是打算下班後領牠去看獸醫。
我心想：大件事了！人所皆知，在香港看獸醫是一件十分奢侈的事，絕對貴過人類睇醫生！像這種兔仔腸胃不適，我估計診金加藥費，埋單至少五百元──說得市儈點，五百元，可以買一頭健康活潑的新兔仔了！
當然，疼錫寵物的主人，是絕不會吝嗇這些醫藥費的，寧可自己死慳死抵，都要醫好愛貓愛犬愛兔。若然，有一種寵物醫療保險，可以讓寵物主人Claim番醫療費，豈不是一件好事？
個人認為，寵物保險在香港大有可為，絕對有得做！
