因為電影《電車男》在港上映，連帶「御宅族」（日文：Otaku）也成為港人認知的一個名詞。據知《電車男》電視版已由TVB購得播映權，相信「御宅族」文化會進一步在港傳揚。
有朋友看過《電車男》後，一直說在下也是個「御宅族」。到底我是不是？最近在網上找到一編文章《你是Otaku嗎？御宅族相性大測試》，作者列舉了一百條問題，看你回答多少個「是」而去評定你的「御宅族」傾向。就像以下問題，我就全部都答了「是」：
「你家中擁有超過三百本漫畫單行本」、「超過一套漫畫是集齊中日文版的」、「擁有三十本以上動漫畫的畫集或設定資料集」、「擁有超過五十套電視或電腦遊戲」、「家中經常有超過一堆一公尺以上的書山」、「曾私下或公開做過幪面超人的變身動作」、「能數出五個或以上曾參與過《高達》機械設計者的名字」……等等。
