前幾年開始，釵h大公司都不再印製公司聖誕卡了，改為鼓勵員工使用電郵聖誕卡；美其名，是為了支持環保云云，實際上，是因為經濟不好，減少開支。於是乎，聖誕收到的聖誕卡少得可憐，不再足夠用來掛在百葉簾上砌棵聖誕樹了。
公司聖誕卡收得少，可以怪經濟不好，但來自親友的聖誕卡亦同樣收得愈來愈少，又可以怪甚麼？怪各式各樣的免費網上聖誕卡湧現，大家為顯示自己入時就棄用傳統紙卡？怪郵局提供埋繳費服務以至大排長龍，所以大家都不願去寄卡？更大機會，是應該怪自己懶得寄卡給人家，所以幾年下來，人家也不會寄卡來了。
但最新的趨勢是，大家連網卡、電郵卡也懶得寄，改為以手機短訊來祝賀聖誕。今年平安夜前，我就收到了好幾個聖誕 SMS，但都是忙中看了就算，隨手就刪掉了；你現在問我有誰寄過給我，我也未必答得上來。
這天，我本來想一口氣 Send 出數十個聖誕 SMS 給朋友們。但想深一層，還是打消了念頭，改為選了幾位打電話過去，親口說聲「聖誕快樂」。聖誕卡也酗w「死」，但請不要讓「聖誕精神」死去。
