一般情況下，在香港出生、長大的孩子們，都不曾見過下雪。
當然，有很多「非一般的情況」。釵h香港的孩子們都很幸福，細細個時父母們就會帶他們去遊埠，到就近的韓國、日本等地滑雪；亦有些移民家庭，其孩子們自小就穿梭美加等地，下雪對他們來說自然見怪不怪。
但總體而言，香港孩子對下雪是陌生的、好奇的，因為香港不曾下雪。真的沒有下過嗎？其實有的。自香港天文台於一八八四年成立以來，有紀錄的一場降雪乃發生於一八九三年一月十六日。當時氣溫突降至攝氏一點六六度，天上降下來的雨點變成雪粉，令大帽山山頂變成一片白色。翌日，氣溫更跌至零點六度，真的下起雪來，整個港島山頂鋪滿五吋厚雪。
嘩，這是一百一十一年前的事了，誰又會記得？你和我都沒有機會見過吧！不過近年聖誕期間，經常有所謂「香港雪景」的噱頭。前幾天落樓，見我的屋宛搞了個甚麼「真雪嘉年華」；主辦單位找來了個吹氣大水池，在其上鋪滿了「真雪」──其實是像「刨冰」一般的碎冰而已。
但小孩子個個在「雪地」上玩得好開心，哪會管它是冰或雪？
