與一大班朋友去試吃一家「京滬川菜館」，筵開兩席。席間，侍應端上來一大盤「水煮羊肉」。我唔理三七廿一，舉杯舉筷。
同席不少朋友聞羊色變，耍手擰頭，見我吃得津津有味，不禁問我道：「乜你唔怕羶咩？」呵呵，問得好。原來小弟自出生以來，從不知羶為何物，也閉O舌頭上欠缺感應羶味的細胞吧！何謂羊之羶？我完全沒有概念，所以照吃如儀。
有朋友吃得羶，卻吃不得辣，這道「水煮羊肉」，辣得他們大呼小叫！大家見我面不改容，驚訝不絕：「乜你咁食得辣㗎？」呵呵，問得好。吃辣是要可以訓練出來的。
最記得有一次，小弟在珠海一個街邊檔，吃着一碗不知甚麼陝西麵，卻驚覺它是我飲食史上遇到最辣的！吃了幾口，本想放棄了。誰料身邊早已圍着幾位衣衫襤褸的孩童，手拿透明膠袋，個個望住我碗麵，等着把我吃剩的倒進去，拿回家。
我於心不忍。即使我知道他們也鳥j着肚子，但我絕不想他們吃我吃剩的食物，太折墮了！於是我二話不說，把整碗麵強行吃光，連湯也不留，辣得我全身發麻！自此，我吃辣的能力又提高了。
