經常遇上一種情況，就是辦公室內有兩位同事，都用同一個英文名字；為免喚錯人，通常大家的解決方法，是以大、小區別之。
出來社會的第一份工作，公司中就有兩位 Maggie。首度介紹時，知道其中一位是「大 Mag」，另一位是「細 Mag」。其實看來，「大 Mag」年紀比「細 Mag」還年輕些少；後來才知道，因「大 Mag」進公司較久，順理成章做「大」了。
以上二人因職位同級，才會以資歷論大小；若是不同職級，就肯定較高級者當「大」。其後，我便遇上過「大 Wen / 細 Wen」、「大 Dan / 細 Dan」、「大 Paul / 細 Paul」等。想落，這其實多多少少也反映了我們香港人的一種特質：事事（尤其是人事）要分清楚大細，絕對不能冇大冇細！
反之在歐美嘛，遇上同名字的人機會更多，甚麼 Peter、Paul、Mary，在同一辦公室內不知凡幾！但他們卻絕不會出現「Big Bob / Little Bob」的，通常會由當事人自行提出一個叫法（例如其中一個暱稱「Bobby」），或索性連對方的姓一起叫（如 Bob Boll）。在稱呼上分大小，只有我們才熱衷。
