世界天天在變，科技不斷在發展；因而，釵h日常生活中的事物，隨着這變、這發展，而慢慢消失，逐漸被淘汰。過去十年，這類「絕種東西」特別多；忽生一念，很想逐一寫寫以紀念之。
今時今日，打開信箱，真如已故的「哥哥」張國榮唱道：「內裏得一片……迷惘！」何解迷惘？因為信箱之中，很難再有一封真真正正的信了！
銀行信、廣告信、帳單稅單電費單等，這些信件就天天有，但絕對不能算是「真信」吧！我所謂的「真信」，是真的由一個活生生的朋友，親手寫給你，用筆寫在信紙上，有筆迹、有簽名、有紙香的信！請問，你最近有收到過嗎？有的話，恭喜你，你的幸運有如找到恐龍化石一樣！在下屈指一算，應該有十年沒有收過「真信」了！「真信」對我來說，已然絕種。
「真信」的天敵相當多，近年陸續出現，這包括了：減了價的長途電話、普及了的傳真機、電郵、ICQ、手機短訊 SMS……等等，可謂強敵環伺，難怪九死一生！
見現今年輕人，談情寄意都轉用 SMS 了，怎會寫信？正是：真愛難求，真信更難求。（《絕種東西系列》之一）
