聞說我住在紐約的父母，最近訂黎F《星島日報》美國東岸版。每天一早七時部A當天出版的最新報章就會被派送到家門口。我知道後，有點感慨。
感慨的是，想起有段日子，我住在美國中部俄亥俄州。那時尚未有互聯網這玩意兒，所以為了要知道一下家鄉的消息，我當時也訂黎F香港的報紙。
訂的是某報的美洲版，好像也是在美國東岸印行的。但由東岸把報章寄來中部，也得花幾天時間，所以我能看到的，是幾天前的報紙。
後來，該報美洲版突然宣告停刊，但我所付了的訂金又不能退回；該報社居然通知我，以後會把該報的原裝香港版郵寄給我，用的當然是最便宜的平郵啦！那就糟了！報紙由香港寄到我處，最快也要十天，我看到的，都是半個月前的「新」聞！再者，一星期七份，平均有兩三份是寄失了的！
今時今日，同樣身在美洲，卻可以看到即日的香港報紙，真是多麼奇妙的事！這是第一個感慨。
第二個感慨，是移民紐約十五年、從不訂中文報紙的父母，突然興起要訂鴃A為的，正是要每天看看在下這個小專欄；能不感慨嗎？
