ICQ 可說是近年互聯網上一個十分重要的軟件。有了它，大家在上網時才不至於孤獨一方，而可以即時知曉有那些朋友也同時正在網上，互相作實時對答。
ICQ 其實就是 I Seek You 之意──那經典的一聲「喔噢」傳來，就代表有人在遠方向你打招呼道：「你也在上網嗎？我在找你呢！」
不過，謹此向我的各方好友宣布：大家假若在 ICQ 上見到我的名字在，而我也跟你實時對答的話，這不一定代表我正坐在電腦熒幕前、聚精會神地在上網；大有可能，我是在街上、在車上，甚至在廁所上──皆因，現在連手機也可以用 ICQ 了！
不錯，部分 Smart Phone 是可以使用 Palm 版本或 Windows CE 版本的 ICQ。但最近有人開發了一個小程式 Jimm，讓你可以在一般的手機上（手機須支援 Java 應用程式及 GPRS 上網），也用得到 ICQ！
雖然我這陣子也在不斷試玩這新玩意，但想深一層：有必要日掛夜掛在網上嗎？有必要隨時隨地與人 Chat 嗎？有必要無時無刻被網友找到嗎？
三個答案都是「無必要」。似乎，這手機 ICQ 也不會大流行。
