讀到一封幽默抵死的英文電郵，題為《知道你是個中國人的八十八個理據》。這些理據中，雖有若干對中國人特性之挖苦（例如貪便宜、太節儉、不衞生等），唯很多的確是一語中的，令我會心微笑之餘，也有一點點反思──特別是提到與父母關係那幾點，謹節錄如下。
理據十：你從來未親吻過你父母；理據十一：你從來未擁抱過你父母。（的確，我兩者都未做過；曾試過想做，但又做不出來。何解？我們有怕難為情的DNA乎？）
理據四十八：你的父親認為他能修理任何東西。（真的如是，家父每到我家定必左望右望，看看有乜可以「整」。整廁所、水龍頭等小兒科，更試過一夜之間把我的廚房拆掉又翻新，勁！）
理據六十三：你父母即使在半夜致電給你，也會問你食咗飯未；理據六十四：你病了，父母會叫你不要吃煎炸嘢，因為熱氣。（無話可說，真理。）
理據八十三：你到三十歲仍跟父母同住；如你結了婚，則會住在父母隔壁的單位，或至少同一區。（看來，我們始終是想親近父母的，卻為何無勇氣親親他們？）
