Hi Katie and congratulations on your deaf dogo! I have a male stone deaf dogo who is now just over a year old. He is absolutely adorable, totally trainable with very few hand signals. We got him at 3 months and have never regretted a day.

I really think he has been helped by our other 5 year old hearing dog..together they are a great team..she is half his size but top dog. He is so gentle with her. I think he watches her reactions constantly to see what he should do and she's a great guard dog so if he's awake!!! he is the "power" and she does all the preliminary guarding. he also watches us for guidance . I really think he has turned out easier than any dog I've ever had and on top of that is stunningly beautiful and totally loving and biddable. I think if we ever get another dog it will be a Dogo and maybe another deaf one!!

I hate to think what happens to deaf puppies after all the tests. I'm just glad to have saved one deaf dogo!!Well done for saving yours!

I live in Greece by the way but would love to hear your experiences as your dog grows up. I don't know anyone else with a deaf dogo, although this site and the Dogo Argentino Club of America site have been a great help!

Please keep in touch if you have any questions!

Good luck and Enjoy!
