Re: Welcome -- Tony Ireland, 23:04:53 03/29/03 Sat
I might be of some help. Even though we lost the battle against Hutchison Telecom, who are at present locating these towers in kids' football fields, we are still fighting to remove these. I have all the "specifications" from Hutchison for these towers. We have had no concrete evidence that childrens future safety won't be compromised, and Bankstown Council is receiving $15,000 per year from Hutchison for each tower erected. I can send more info if you require.

hi -- Andrew West, 17:18:09 03/31/03 Mon
Hey, you should get a free chat room or something for this website, so people can express their veiws quickly. I can help ya with that if you want.
Also, a message for everyone.... Dont give up. Yes the tower may be up ... BUT! WHAT GOES UP, MUST COME DOWN.

Community Action -- Michael, 10:13:10 04/09/03 Wed
I was at the first rally opposing the tower. I noticed the Oatley Flora and Fauna Society providing information. I believe there is a group called the Hurstville Residents Association? and I know there is the Lugarno Progress Association. It begs the question. Why dont all these groups as well as the Tower Protest group get together as a force and have some political action on Hurstville Council.Council has had community consultation in their Hurstville Horizons workshops and we have not seen any progress. I live near Oatley Park and have seen its degradation over the last eight years. It is true that it is loved(used) to death. Something more active has to be done to protect the Park from all sorts of threats including the Tower.
