Illinois has a Governor's Race in 2006.

We have a Dem now who is running for re-election and right now I'm not real worried about it going to a Republican.

The only Rep to win statewide last election - Judy Baar Topinka - will have a tough battle in the Rep Primary but I think she will win her Primary. She is a long-time supporter of Choice and marches every year in the Chicago Pride Parade. The only Rep to do so. In fact, of all the politicians (Dem or Rep) she is the only one who actually looks like she is having a good time. Well...the woman does play the accordian. *g*
