Logical since you're going to school and you probably don't have any money to get an AC, it's time to look really hot and sweaty and sagging in front of mom or dad.

Try - "Gee, it's so hot. I really appreciate what you go through now that I'm older."

or

"My doctor really thinks I need to get AC, if only I had the money."

or

"I heard on the radio that a woman in her early forties had heat stroke because she didn't have AC in her home."

I can come up with more if you need them. *g*
