But hey...aren't we supposed to be putting you on the couch? ;-)

Yeah...we're both somewhat skeptical of the industry that has grown up to diagnose kids as ADHD, SID, etc...plus you've eventually got Coyotyl's whole agri/pharmiceutical conspiracy network pumping pills out by the carload. Frankly, school isn't set up especially well for the way most boys are...they tend to be more active as an average group and telling a bunch of three year old boys to sit down quietly for circle time and listen for 15 minutes doesn't necessarily go over well for a lot of boys. Then again...you've gotta at least grin and bear it for a part of the time...that's just the way school is. BUT...he's frigging THREE years old (4 years old now...).

Anyway, we're going through with all the diagnostic stuff...they DO have some good ideas...like the Occupation Therapist (OT...they're all the rage now apparently) just kind of does activities and games with him to teach skills. It's just frustrating...he can do so well in certain situations...especially one on one with other kids...plus he'll step up to the plate and be excellent at times...we took him to see The Lion King in Boston...it was a 7pm show and he sat enraptured through the whole thing and was a perfect gentleman. Then he'll go to school and just be a pain.

Like you said...there is an upside to it too...even though he's a complete butthead on the social interaction scale...he's way up there on the cognitive tests...he was testing at a 6 year old level on the verbal stuff. So...he's a well spoken pain in the rear!

I just can't imagine where he got it from....I mean, Laura and I are sooooooooooo even keeled and our families are too! Not!
