Hi Martha,

I've been kind of following your story. A friend of mine was in a similar situation a long time ago. She ended up splitting with her husband with 2 small (4&5 yrs) kids to support on her own. She ended up getting help from the state. Now, I know this is not for everyone and I am not suggesting being a "freeloader". But, she got help with rent, food, tuition, and chilcare for 2-3 years. She now is making good money and has a degree. She was not thrilled doing it, but looked at it as having no other options other than working 12 hours a day and never seing her kids. This may or may not work for you, but you asked for suggestions! Good luck in whatever you choose!
