Good point about the batteries in a crash. Not sure that's the way it works out with the acid leaking and all, but I never thought of it.

I had a brand new Prius to drive around in for a while. The weird thing, and the thing I liked the best, was how quiet it was. Running on the batteries, there is almost no noise, which is very odd. Easy to like.

Also, I was a naughty boy and drove a very weird experimental Nissan hybrid. Turns out it was an Altima, but it was a "mule", meaning it was in disquise. On the outside the skin was of a Maxima, but altered to look nondiscript.

Lot of fun. Plenty of power for me, and again- silent.

I liked it. And if you could have an Xterra that got 30 MPG, well that's almost double.

Not sure about battery life. Are you sure they need to be replaced in 4 years?
