Simmington Hills is proud to be participating in its 1st Food Expo event!

Here is our June Itinerary: (We've also emailed Brooke Young to post it on the official site.)

Food Expo 2007
June Itinerary for Simmington Hills

(Tickets to the event are $20 – Adults, $15 – Teens, and $10 – Children)
In The Garden

Opening Ceremony at Willow Community Park

• “Welcome Remarks and Grand Opening of The Park - Ribbon Cutting Ceremony” by Judge Sabien Cunningham
• “Introduction to the Food Expo 2007” by Cameron Masters, Archive Librarian

Free time:

• Shopping in the open food market. Groceries provided by Aldi’s Supermarket
• BBQ Grilling
• Park Swings for children

Chili Cook-Off:

• Judged by the residents and Townies of Simmington Hills using secret ballots
• Each entry contestant has their own table
• The table with the most votes wins!
• The prize is a large gold trophy to remain in that contestant’s home until next year’s contest

Fishing Contest:

• The first person to pull a large fish wins!
• Prize is a gold trophy, and the fish mantled for their wall

Lectures:

• “Simple Gardening at Home” by Stacy Masters
• “Think Like a Chef: The Art of Cooking Easy Dishes” by Sergio Spencer

Book Signing:

• Sergio Spencer will be signing copies of his new cookbook, “Think Like a Chef”, under one of the tents.
• Copies of the book are also available for purchasing.

Raffle: (Tickets are $20)

• $500 cash prize
• $100 cash prize
• $50 certificate for dinner at Aldi’s Supermarket & Restaurant
• $25 certificate off groceries at Aldi’s Supermarket & Restaurant
